Policies are underwritten by Pruco Life (a Prudential subsidiary) and are unavailable in some states. The key architectural detail: SoFi itself builds and operates the entire digital flow, and Prudential provides only the product and underwriting. The UI, the customer relationship and the data stay with SoFi, so this is not a simple affiliate link. Thesis read: (1) The member flywheel. In SoFi's 'borrow, save, spend, invest, protect' one-stop positioning, insurance is the thinnest leg. Life insurance demand naturally overlaps with existing SoFi borrowers: mortgage, student loan and personal loan customers all need 'what happens to my debt if I die' cover. That supports growth in products per member. (2) The balance sheet. SoFi only distributes and bears no underwriting risk, so this is capital-light fee income with no credit risk, in line with the 'reduce loan dependence' direction. Reservations: the commission or revenue-share split is not disclosed, and distribution revenue per life policy is small, so the near-term financial impact is limited. The real test is whether products per member and non-interest income in the Financial Services segment inflect; one partnership alone proves nothing. Scale updates from the company's self-reported boilerplate: 15.8 million members, and SoFi Tech Solutions (formerly Galileo/Technisys) services more than 134 million accounts globally. Official quarterly figures come with earnings and the 10-Q on 27 Oct. Insider activity: SEC EDGAR shows the latest Form 4 was filed on 23 Sep, with no new insider filings since.
